After Sophia decided to cut Simeon's hair and then lie about it tonight, we had this conversation:
Me: Sophia we do not tell lies. It makes mommy and daddy very upset when you lie and it makes God sad when you lie.
Sophia: well thats okay cuz Mrs. Aldrich said that Jesus died so we don't have punishments.
How do you respond to this in a way that is not laughter and a way that explains to a 5 year old that Jesus did not die so we can sin whenever we feel like it?
Mrs. Aldrich and I had a good laugh about her higher authority this morning. I think she's going to rethink how that lesson goes next time. :)
