Look at my new stuff!

The very cheap Brother machine that I bought on a whim when Sophia was a little over 1 year old died a couple of days ago. It was bound to happen, but I was very sad. Most people would get their machine serviced when something like this happens, but that would just be silly for me. I paid around $80 for this machine 6 years ago. Getting it serviced would have cost about $100 or more and buying the same exact machine brand new would have cost about $75. It was time for an upgrade anyway right? I mean I am pretty awesome at this sewing thing. I deserve a better workhorse right? Well, I don't know if it will be better, but this is what I ended up with. A computerized Brother with more stitches than I will know what to do with, I am sure. So begins the adventure of learning a new machine.
Now what am I going to work on with this fancy new machine? Well this box from fabric.com came in the mail not too long ago.
It has 7 yards of microsuede, 11 yards rib knit, and 10 yards elastic in it. It's all the stuff I bought to make a new stash of cloth diapers. Well, it won't make a whole new stash, but it will get me started. This is what I was working on when my machine bit the dust.
Lastly, my order from the SewShoppe. Touch tape for the dipes and the New Conceptions Baby Essentials Pattern. I am so excited to get started on this sewing and hope it will cure my stress level as I am completely overwhelmed with school and work. Are you sensing a theme with my purchases? Yeah, yeah we're having another baby - and before you ask, YES! I do know what causes this! I am aware of how not to make it happen. Don't say dumb stuff to me. I am not an idiot, and I am now very happy with our news. When I start asking you to pay for their private school tuition or our gas bill so we have heat, then it can be your problem. For now, let me enjoy my family and keep your rude comments about its size at least behind my back. I am due middle of May and praying for a baby boy, although it doesn't much matter now as it has all its cells and whatnot. I am also praying that s/he comes after graduation. It could go either way for me, but luckily I am only taking one class with externs next semester, so I am sure it will be fine.

Congrats on the new baby, and the new sewing machine. I have one those cheap Brother machines too. Mine's almost 12 years old, but it doesn't get much use.
